General information:
Gymnasts should arrive prepared for class and be on time. Gymnasts that are arriving more than 5-10 minutes before class MUST be supervised. Somers students may be eligible to arrive via the school bus. Please see Cathy for pricing and enrollment.
Gymnasts and/or siblings utilizing the facility to eat prior to or after class MUST have adult supervision. Please bring all utensils needed and clean up after yourself and your family. We enjoy providing the family atmosphere and would appreciate the courtesy of help with maintaining a clean and pleasant environment.
This year we will have Competitive gymnast PARENT COMMUNICATION FOLDERS located by the Info Board. In order to be sure that our PARENTS are getting the proper information (rather than papers being left on the floor in the cubby room) we ask that these folders are checked by the parents only. We advise Team Parents to check these folders every visit. They may contain time sensitive and critical information. We would like for parents ONLY to check these folders in order to ensure timely delivery of necessary and accurate information. We will no longer have mailboxes. We will continue to post information on the website and team info board. However, certain information is level specific and therefore the folders will be the main form of communication. ***not being used 2020-2021 season due to covid.
Leotard, warm-up, fundraising, meet schedule, and competitive event information will be available and distributed when available.
Our parent's patio is a very important part of our facility. Please refrain from conversing with our gymnasts and staff during class. Also please do not bring in furniture and/or have siblings sit on the wall.

No spectators/parents will be allowed on the floor. Under NO CIRCUMSTANCES should you EVER go onto the event floor, approach a judge, or harass host gym employees, even if you feel a mistake has been made. REMEMBER: ALL OF OUR COMPETITIVE GYMNASTS ARE OUR FAMILY AND WE SHOULD SUPPORT EACH AND EVERY MEMBER.
INVITATIONAL VS. LOCAL MEETS: An invitational gymnastics meet results in medals and trophies for a certain percentage of the gymnast's placement on each event and all-around scores. Local meets result in an envelope with colored ribbons based on the gymnast's score (not place) for every event and all-around. Invitationals also usually include a gift for every gymnast participating and have higher entry fees.
USAG leotards vary by level.
All AAU competitors wear the same leotard and hairstyle to all AAU meets. (Black & White tank with "SOMERSault Jungle" on back.) Hairstyle is based on ages (not level) as below.
USAG & AAU Ages 10+: Hair should be heavily gelled and sprayed with no loose pieces hanging and secured in a single high back bun. The competition uniform ribbon scrunchie bow should be placed around bun.
USAG & AAU Jr: Ages 9 & under: Hair should be heavily gelled and sprayed with no loose pieces hanging. Hair should be put into two (high) side ponytails, then braided. Twist braids around pony into buns. The competition uniform ribbon scrunchie bows should be placed around each bun.
